I have recently acquired a 27' Hunter which I keep at Isla Del Sol Y & CC in St. Pete. a bird's eye view from the Pink Hotel (Don Caesar). I would like to meet anyone with a similiar boat to learn more about mine & do some day sailing on the Gulf, Tampa Bay or an overnighter to Venice or alike. Oldgranpop wc33715@msn.com

I have been waiting for the past 2 years, with bated breath, for the county to dredge the basin at the American Marina. As it hasn't been done, and I am tired of being land locked with any thing but a high tide I am moving my boat to Gulfport Marina on Bocca Ciega Bay.

I had my 38' Seafarer there a few years back. It's a great marina with 2 sea walls to protect boats during a storm. I'll be moving there this week. You will be able to find me on the water during the week. The one thing I won't miss in Pasco, and Hernando County waters are the damn crab traps. They are every where and are truly a navigation hazard in those waters.

My wife and I, or my sailing buddies will be spending nights out either at Anclote Key or Fort Desoto. If you see us on the hook stop by and say hello.

I'm lookinf forward to hearing from you..... Patrick

Welcome, I have been sailing Tampa Bay for many years and have in the past 2 years moved the boat to Port Richey which is closer to home In Weeki Wachee. I work every week end now so I don't miss the drunks in the stink boats who have never heard of the rules of the road or common courtesy.

I would like to hear from the many of you who sail this area, what you have and how you like to sail. As for me...I have a Catalina 320. It's a great single-hander with one draw back I have a 4'10 draft I am in the American Marina on the Cootie river in Port Richey. In the winter at low tide I am about a foot out of the water and am restricted to when I can sail. This will be soon changing I hope as the Corps of engineers have recently surveyed the area to dredge it to 5' at meat low tide.

I spend many night at anchor at Anclote Key. On the south east end if the island there is a great anchorage and protected from all but an easterly wind. If any one wants to meet up for an evening of bar-b-q and drinks on the hook let me know.

Once every year or two I like to get a crew together to go to the Dry Tortuga's, If any one Else in the are would like to make a flotilla of it we'd love the company. We usually go in early May If you are not experienced with open water, or just looking for 8 days of fun this is the trip.

I hope to hear fom all of you in this area soon. Patrick
