Well I think there are other folks like us who also sail North West lakes and rivers so just add the Salish Sea instead of Pudget Sound or SanJuan Islands ect.

Well, I really like the new name for the area, I think the faster it becomes commonly known, the better. However, I think for the time being we need to maintain PNW somewhere in our group name or we might get overlooked by potential members who aren't yet familiar with the new name. Perhaps "Salish Sea Cruisers (including PNW waters)" or something like that. It would be nice to get away from the PNW moniker eventually since it doesn't very accurately describe Canadian waters (unless you want to call them the Pacific South West )

I guess we should rename this message board for the SALISH SEA a new name for all Pudget Sound, Straight of Juan de Fuca , San Juan Islands and the Straight of Georga all inland salt water areas that have tides north up to Desolation Sound.

    Any descusion on this ?

I haven't been here for a while... Check the Pics to see what I've been doing. First, I built a rowing dinghy, called Julie (short for La Jolie Bateau - PPPHHHT to the French: boats are female!) And I spent 2 weeks going up, being, and coming back from Desolation Sound in mid-Sept. Check BC Boatnet for the full stories, but I think that pic of Prideau Haven tells it all

I am back and everything is dryed out from the rain on Pudget Sound for 5 days. The big 40 ft Lagoon is really nice and I got great video to show my wife. It is an owners version with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and 2 foward storages or single births one in each hull. I got some great sailing in, I had several days with 12 mph breezes just perfect. I got into some snow on Snowquami pass but our MacGregor made it fine with only 10 miles in 4x4 . It probably will be the last time this year sailing on that side of the mt's this year.

Good luck in your quest for a good multihull.I've always had a dream of a nice little Trimaran for zipping around the coastal inside waters. I had a small Pivor years back that was well past it's best years when I got it.Didn't last long but got my interests piqued. If I had the bucks I'd do a Pivor in aluminum or Kevlar. The hinge was the weak point and that would be eliminated with a welded construction. The Brown designed cruisers were well thought out too for their time. There have been huge advances since then that have only made the breed better and faster. For extended cruises you just can't beat the comfort of a big cat!

That is good news, cod. All the best and looking forward to next spring/summer. We might get out a time or two more this fall. But just short day trips at most. If the weather isn't too bad this Saturday, for instance, the admiral says she wants to get back to Portland Island (just north of Sidney) and see if there are any apples left in the old orchard there. I guess we're a little far away from Seattle, bubba, but here's hoping the weather cooperates for you and us.

Thanks bubba! The operation was a success and I'm recovering quickly. Its been two weeks since the operation and I'm up and about trying to get some muscle control back. The knee feels as sturdy as my Mariner!
